Outdoor Explorers is about connecting children to the wonders of nature
If you child finds it challenging to meet new friends or is reluctant to go outside and play? This holiday group is for you.
In Outdoor Explorers, children will go on an exciting bushwalk, searching for nature-based treasures, exploring their surroundings, and developing their own unique ways to connect with the outdoors. The Outdoor Explorers group offers children a safe space to build friendships, practice teamwork, and discover new strengths through play and exploration.
Goals of the group include:
- Increase positive opportunities for social interactions, teamwork and reciprocal engagement.
- Promote sensory rich experiences.
- Support awareness of safety in outdoor and community settings.
- Encourage gross motor and fine motor skills through nature-based activities
- Foster emotional regulation in a group and mindfulness skills.
This group is for Occupational Therapy Helping Children clients who are currently undergoing therapy within our service.
