Leona is a highly enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist from Ireland. She graduated from the University of Liverpool in the UK with first class Honours in Occupational Therapy.
Leona has a wealth of occupational therapy experience, working in a variety of settings with children ranging from babies through to young adults. She has also worked in early intervention services, community health services, hospitals, and both mainstream and special schools.
Leona has a special interest in working with children with sensory processing difficulties and she has completed her Masters level training in Ayres’ Sensory Integration. Leona also has extensive experience helping children with:

- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD)
- Developmental Coordination Disorder (Dyspraxia)
- Global Developmental Delay
- Handwriting difficulties
- Profound learning difficulties

Leona’s creativity, infectious positivity and empathy helps engage and motivate children to work on their developmental skills during their sessions with her.
Leona’s philosophy is to help those supporting the child really understand what is going on for that child and how they can best help them.
She is also an experienced educator and presenter, regularly delivering training and presentations for teachers, parents and medical professionals as well as providing guidance and mentoring to Occupational Therapy students and recent graduates.
Outside of being an OT, Leona is an avid traveller and talented cook who loves music. She enjoys learning more about the world by listening to interesting TED talks and podcasts.
