“I love being an Occupational Therapist assistant because I have a passion for finding solutions to overcome unique challenges that individuals face, as well as being motivated to guide the development of a variety of skills to assist people to reach their own individualistic goals. I believe with patience and consistency individuals of all ages can overcome their challenges and formulate new strengths.
Growing up with many younger siblings and cousins has given me the opportunity to understand each developmental stage of a child’s life in depth and has helped me to feel very comfortable and passionate about working with children.
During my time as an Occupational Therapy student I have spent much of my practical time with children within schools and within activity camps, which has assisted me in learning many valuable lessons, the most profound being that each child is unique and there is no one size that fits all. Incorporating this belief within therapy sessions makes a huge difference to a child’s learning and development, as well as their engagement in activities.
I look forward to growing and developing my own skills through being a part of the Occupational Therapy Helping Children team, completing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and taking part in as many learning activities as possible so that I become progressively more knowledgeable in providing the best therapy available”.
