Handwriting Heroes is designed to support children in building confidence and independence in their handwriting skills. Through engaging and fun activities, children explore key skills such as pencil grip, letter and number formation, spacing, punctuation, and legibility.
The group also focuses on strengthening fine motor coordination, finger and hand strength, and overall writing mechanics in a supportive environment. Handwriting Heroes celebrates each child’s unique progress, helping them become confident and capable writers at their own pace.
Goals of the group include:
Improve pencil grasp to support increased pencil control when writing.
Improve letter and number formation by supporting clear and consistent motor planning of the formation of letters and numbers.
Enhance fine motor skills by building hand strength and finger dexterity for smoother writing.
Boost writing legibility by focusing on letter alignment, sizing and spacing.
