Best Buddies is a program created to support children aged K-2 as they explore social connections and enjoy positive play with peers.
Through engaging, play-based activities, the group fosters opportunities for children to build confidence in navigating social environments, practice teamwork, develop flexible thinking, and grow their resilience. Best Buddies provides a supportive and welcoming space where every child can thrive while discovering and strengthening their unique social strengths.
Goals of the group include:
- Encourage positive connections and friendships with peers.
- Support skills to initiate and maintain play like sharing, compromising, and turn-taking.
- Encourage flexible thinking to help children adapt to new ideas and perspectives.
- Build resilience to foster confidence in handling social challenges.
